Mr Greg Sword, a founding director of veski retired on 13 November 2019. During his time with veski he was also a member of the veski audit and risk committee and the veski sustainable agriculture selection panel.

 

Greg is currently the Chairman of St Vincent's Hospital Foundation - Melbourne, a Trustee of the National Jockeys Trust, Director of the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Board (MFB), Director of VIC Forests Board, and a Trustee of the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve and CEO of Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust in 2018. 

Greg has served as the National Secretary of the National Union of Workers, Senior Vice President of the ACTU and National President of the ALP. Greg has co-authored several reports on the development and evolution of the Union movement, including 'Australia Reconstructed' in 1987, which set the scene for the modernisation of the Union movement, and outlined an approach to wage fixation based on productivity increases and efficiencies in the workplace.

Greg was awarded the Order of Australia (AM) for services to the Trade Union Movement and to the Community in 2010.

He was one of the pioneers in the development of industry superannuation and succeeded in establishing the Labour Union Co-operative Retirement Fund (LUCRF) in 1978. Greg served as CEO of the fund between 2006 and 2014. LUCRF Super now has more than $6 billion under management and is consistently rated as one of the highest returning and most efficient funds in the industry.
