Leonie Walsh to join first veski conversation for 2013
Special guest Ms Leonie Walsh will join the first veski conversation for 2013 and share her insights on partnerships between industry and academia.
The invitation-only event will be held in February and will bring together veski innovation fellows, veski board members and representatives from industry and academia.
Ms Leonie Walsh has accumulated more than 20 years of technology leadership experience with multi-national companies such as Visy, Henkel and Dow Chemical in a broad range of applications and markets both locally and globally. Within the R&D function Leonie has lead technical service, new product development, material science, characterisation and process research teams at a global level, provided support to technology based start-ups and is currently consulting in the area of Technology Commercialisation.
Leonie has participated on a number of industry advisory boards and government grant industry expert panels in the area of technological innovation. She is currently President of the Australasian Industrial Research Group and is on the industry expert panel for the Victorian State Government, Technology Voucher program. Leonie also holds non-executive director positions for the Fight Cancer Foundation and the National Management Board of the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry and Cord Blood bank.
Leonie Walsh has received a BSc and an MSc in Applied Chemistry from Swinburne University, an MBA (Exec) from The Australian Graduate School of Management, a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Fellow of the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.
