Apply now for 2013 Premier's Award

There are just over two weeks until applications close for the 2013 Premier’s Award for Health and Medical Research. 

veski is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the prestigious Premier’s Award for Health & Medical Research.

The Award is presented annually by the Victorian Government and the Australian Society for Medical Research and recognises the exceptional achievements of Victoria’s young, up and coming postgraduate health or medical research scholars. 

The Award includes $40,000 in prize money, with $16,000 presented to the winner and $8,000 to three commendees.

Applications are now open until 2pm, Friday 15 March, 2013.

The winner and commendees will be announced during Medical Research Week in early June 2013.

 

  

2012 winner Dr Stefan Gehrig

Dr Stefan Gehrig was recognised for his work on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), one of the most common, lethal childhood genetic conditions worldwide. 

'Receiving such a prestigious award has increased my profile both internationally and within Australia, and led to a number of opportunities to present my research at local and international conferences. 

'This award also helped in securing a National Health and Medical Research Council Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Australian Government to continue my research at Harvard University, Boston.'
